Academy Basketballers Shooting for Success with Major Team Selections

Several Hunter Academy of Sport past and present Basketballers have had a big few weeks in selections across numerous state and national squads.

Several Hunter Academy of Sport past and present Basketballers have had a big few weeks in selections across numerous state and national squads. 

 

Basketball NSW announced their Under 15 NSW Country side, with the following athletes selected to attend the 2020 Country Development Tournament Kelly Bowden, Sophie Bultitude, Ashley Crossan, Holly Keeble, Olivia McGregor, Hannah Nimmo and Hannah Rowe were selected in the girls squad.

 

Dion Adderly, Charlie Lentfer, Alexander Martin, Wil Morgan and Dan Welbourne made the boys team. 

 

The Under 18 NSW Country side was also announced, with Kelsey Crossan, Chyra Evans, Isabella Jennings, Mila Wawszkowicz, Shannon Burton, Sophie Williams, Emily Foy, Jackson Buttsworth, Kaia Isaac, Jude Jennings, Mason McDougall, Michael Walker, Ashton Proctor and Diezel Price selected to attend the 2020 Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup.

 

The Academy's 2018 Athlete of the Year, Chyra Evans, and fellow HAS athlete Michael Walker were recently selected in the Under 16 Australian Team who are in training for the 2020 FIBA Under 16 Asia Championships. The team are looking to qualify for the 2020 FIBA Under-17 World Championships in Romania later in the year.
