Hunter Academy of Sport athletes have been excelling across numerous sports registering many notable achievements in the past few weeks.

It was a big week for the Hunter Academy of Sport Maitland and Port Stephens Toyota surfers at the annual King of the BOX surfing tournament with Amelie Burke placing second and Maddison Poole finishing third in the open women’s event.

Joshua Stretton came out on top in the junior men’s division and was followed by fellow teammate Jordan Liackman who placed fourth.

Hunter Academy of Sport lawn bowler Connor Freeman has had a big year on the green, being named in the top tier team in the NSW Under 18 Blues squad.

Following that section, Freeman was named the winner of zone two number two grade pennant, zone two junior district singles, pairs, triples and fours, and a semi-finalist for the state pairs and runner up for the junior golden nugget.
