Aussie Rules Development
The Hunter Academy of Sport Aussie Rules program is an off season skills development program
The HAS Program will focus on developing athletes between the ages U17, U15 and U13. Selected athletes will develop skills that are required to enhance their performance and knowledge of the game.
Please note: this program is not affiliated with the AFL NSW/ACT pathway and exists as a skills development program only

A trial date is yet to be confirmed - all nominees will be emailed and notified of any details once made available
Athlete Benefits
The following benefits will apply to those selected in the Aussie Rules Football program:
- Eight face to face training sessions (kicking, handball, tackle technique and game play)
- Education in Topics such as: Physiotherapy, Strength & Conditioning, Sports Psychology & Nutrition
- Inter-Academy Sessions with Central Coast Academy of Sport
- 2 field trip/training sessions at either GWS or Swans training facilities
- On field Strength and Conditioning sessions (agility, running, coordination, strength)
- HAS training uniform
- Opportunity to attend future AFLW Games
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for a position within the Aussie Rules Football program, athletes must be:
- Males & Females
17 years, (2007, 2008)
15 years (2009, 2010)
13 years (2011, 2012)
There will be both a Male and Female squad selected - Reside within the Hunter Region;
- Attend school within the Hunter Region;
- Registered with a local Aussie Rules Football club/association
Cost
A program levy and uniform levy will be applicable to selected athletes
