2012 Monthly Winners

APRIL WINNERS

Bernice de Jager – Cardiff South Public School – Netball, Tennis & Swimming

In 2012 Bernice has represented her school in zone & regional netball and also at a state level.  She has achieved zone, regional and state level in tennis and represented the school at zone swimming.  Bernice is a member of the school PSSA netball team and outside of school she is in a representative netball team.

Lucas Burrow – Garden Suburb Public School – Swimming & AFL

Lucas was the school swimming champion and represented the school at zone in 2011 & 2012.  He was also a member of the Hunter Region swimming team and attended nationals for 50 metres breastroke.  Lucas is also a Hunter Region AFL team member.

Emma-Sue Greentree – Hunter Sports High School – Athletics & Cricket

Emma-Sue has competed at the 2012 NSW Athletics Country Championships, NSW Athletics Junior Championships and Little Athletics Region Championships.  Recently she was crowned the Under 14 Australian High Jump champion at the National Championships.  Emma-Sue has also represented Newcastle in the Under 13 Girls Cricket Championships.

Ben Fitzgerald-Hall – Hunter Sports High School – Athletics

Ben competed at the Nationals in the open mens discus to try and qualify for Olympics selection.  He came 8th in Australia which is a great result considering that he is only 16 and competing in an open event.

Scone Public School – Open Girls Cricket Team

Scone Public School open girls cricket team has finished equal 3rd in the NSW Knockout for the last two years.  The sportsmanship and commitment the girls showed over the course of the year was exemplary.


MARCH WINNERS

Maddison Ashley – Hillsborough Public School – Athletics, Swimming & Netball

Ashley has competed at zone level in athletics, swimming and netball.  She was selected in the Hunter Regional Netball Team in 2011 and has been selected in the zone and regional netball team in 2012.

Abbie Sweeney – Adamstown Public School – Swimming

Abbey won all her age races in all strokes at her school swimming carnival and then at Zone she swam exceptionally well again and achieved a 1st and 2nd. This allowed her to be selected for the Regional Swimming Team and then she was also selected in the State Swimming Team.

Andrew Bourke – Our Lady of Lourdes Tarro – Touch and Rugby League

Andrew has represented his school, region and dioceses over a number of years.  He exhibits a high degree of skill in a number of areas and is a wonderful role model to his peers.  He was recently voted “Man of the Match” in his school’s recent Knights KO grand final win.

Jesse Maxwell – Coal Point Public School – Cross Country & Athletics

Jesse represented NSW in cross country and athletics in 2010 and 2011.  Last year at the National Cross Country Carnival held in Canberra, Jesse came 17th and at the National Athletics Carnival in Darwin Jesse came 8th in the 800m.

Jacob Montgomery – All Saints College St Mary’s – Cricket

Jacob is the captain of the school cricket team.  His contribution to the team has been outstanding.  This year he has represented Northern NSW CCC and the NSW CCC team.  He has also represented for ACT.


FEBRUARY WINNERS

Jade Frith - Coal Point Public School - Swimming

Jade placed 5th in the 50M breaststroke and 7th in the senior 200M individual medley the Hunter Regional Carnival representing Westlakes Zone.  At the 2011 Swimming NSW State Age Short Course Championships Jade competed in the 10 years and under age group in 100M backstroke, 100M breaststroke, 100M butterfly and 50M breaststroke.

Sam Faulkner - St Brigid's Raymond Terrace - Softball

Sam has played softball for the Boomerangs for 8 years now.  Sam was recently selected to represent NSW Country Primary Schools in Sydney in September after representing the school in Lismore. 

Dana Gill - Charlton Christian College - Athletics

Dana has been selected to compete in the International Children's Games in South Korea later this year.  She is also a student who regularly represents the school in zone and state athletics. 

Mariah Williams - Hunter Sports High School - Hockey

Mariah was recently selected in the NSW under 18 womens hockey team and also in the NSWIS high performance hockey squad.

Bryce Murry - Kotara High School - Triathlon

Bryce recently placed 2nd at the NSW All Schools Triathlon in the senior division and qualified for the Nationals in Adelaide.  He also finished 2nd in the open mens 2XU Newcastle triathlon.

Jesse Deloraine - All Saints College St Mary's Maitland - Water Polo

Jesse is currently in the NSWCCC and NSW under 20 B team and under 18 NSW squad.  He is also a member of the junior NSWIS team.
