Athletes Tested at Inaugural Combine

MORE than 200 new and returning Hunter Academy of Sport athletes attended their program orientation and an inaugural combine testing day late last month.
The event, held at Hunter Sports High School on Saturday, October 26, involved athletes from the 2019/20 basketball, hockey, AFL, cycling and golf programs.
Participants learned about the Academy's history, and heard from retired Olympian and world champion aerial skier Samantha Wells, who spoke about her experience as an elite athlete.
In other Academy news, the only Hunter-based Dooley's Metro League Netball team managed by HAS, Hunter Netball, have announced their training squad for the 2020 Season.
Thirty-one girls have been selected in the squad and will complete 20 training sessions over the summer period months to prepare for the 2020 competition.
From the selected athletes, teams will be chosen pending Netball NSW division allocations.
